Red panda fursona7/26/2023 ![]() Red Pandas are native to northern Myanmar (Burma) to the west Sichuan and Yunnan provinces of China. Red Pandas live in high altitude temperate forests with bamboo under stories in the Himalayas and high mountains. Red pandas usually weigh around 3.7-6.2 kilograms. They are 56-62.5 centimeters in length, not including the tail which can grow up to 37-37 centimeters. Male and female red pandas look alike, except for.never mind.Īs adults, red pandas are slightly bigger than a large house cat. It's nose is also black.Ī Red Panda's eyes are light brown, and have vertical slit pupils. The inside of a Red Panda's ears are white and the backs of its ears are black. Two white "eyebrow" patches are located above the eyes. The Red Panda's face usually has two white stripes running from its eyes to its cheeks with a white muzzle, but sometimes the entire front part of the face can be white. It's feet have five wide-spread toes with retractable claws, and are covered in fur. Generally a reddish-brown coat on its back and head, with white or lighter brown striped down the tail.įeet, legs, stomach, neck, basically everything underneath the red panda is black. The Red Panda's genus is Ailurus (which is its own personal genus) and its species is Fulgens, making its scientific name Ailurus Fulgens.
